While some pundits have made foreboding predictions about the end of lawyers—at least as they currently operate—AmLaw Consulting Group was created on the notion that these major changes are opening tremendous opportunities—for attorneys and their clients alike. AmLaw Consulting Group was created to make legal and related business services more accessible, effective, and affordable.

Based in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, AmLaw Consulting Group’s areas of expertise go well beyond its immediate vicinity. AmLaw Consulting Group works in an alliance of local legal and business professionals in a number of overseas markets in order to provide local knowledge and specialization, as needed. Similarly, we closely work with a variety of practitioners with a presence in most major jurisdictions in the United States in order to provide seamless support for our clients on more specialized matters.

AmLaw Consulting Group was founded by Charles Raether, a recognized expert with extensive experience in business and law in the U.S. as well as emerging markets including Russia, Kazakhstan, and other Eurasian countries. Mr. Raether has extensive experience in the legal and commercial aspects of international business and trade and worked in private practice at top-tier law firms serving large multinationals as well as emerging start-ups. His area of specialization is general corporate law, venture capital, and private equity. Mr. Raether previously served as an executive for a major international real estate consultancy, heading up its office in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He also previously worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce and several government contractors in the areas of legal and commercial development in Russia and Central Asia. He is fluent in Russian.
